Flintclaw didn't feel like what he said had been that impressive of an observation. Any warrior should've been able to pick up on the kit's shortcomings in that hunting crouch and pounce. Obviously whoever had taught her the crouch didn't have enough pride to be thorough. Still, he gave the slightest of nods to acknowledge her statement.

Oh, so Bumblestar would be promoting Rosekit soon, then? After everything... Hold on, the rest of what she was saying began to sink in. Flintclaw was torn between his distaste for Rosekit and his obligation to his clan. At no point should he go denying the education of any kit... Sure, he could be snide or malicious, but as long as the lesson was still learned, he owed that much to the thunderclan as well as his own pride.

"Sure..." The word was slow and careful. He had a fairly good feeling that she would come get him and remind him about it later, once she was promoted. Oh, joy. Perhaps he would turn it into a lesson for both Dizzypaw and her. At least, then, his own apprentice would recieve well needed training. "But if you want training on taking down large predators, you'll need basic battle training, first." He informed her.

Just like that, into the next topic... after one more question, of course.

"Yes, and no," Flintclaw replied. "The basic hunting crouch can be used to hunt anything, but in advanced hunting lessons you will learn about modifications to the hunting crouch that are more effective with different prey." Did Flintclaw know advanced hunting techniques? Yes. Was he good at them? No. He kept it fairly standard when he hunted, which explained his lower side of the average catch rate during hunting patrols.

"Herb gathering patrols are not terribly different from hunting patrols," The massive tabby began. "When thunderclan's medicine cats need herbs, they pull together a patrol and show the warriors how to identify the plants they need before sending them to parts of the territory where the plants they want are most prevalent. It's usually two or three different herbs. You gather as much as you can find and carry before regrouping and returning to camp." He paused a moment.

"Some plants are more dangerous than others, but you would be warned ahead of time if something you needed to gather was poisonous." Which always seemed odd to Flintclaw. What kind of medicine cat needed poisonous plants? They were supposed to heal injuries, but he couldn't understand how poisonous plants could possibly help anyone.
Rosekit
The kit nodded very seriously, thinking about the info being offered to her before once more launching into a tirade of different thoughts and questions for the warrior after leaping from her hunting position. “I understand! I’ll be expecting a lesson on predator hunting after I receive my battle lesson from my mentor, I will come and find you.” On top of the rest of Rosekit’s expectations of Flintclaw, you would think she was naming the warrior her mentor before Bumblestar even gave her the ‘paw suffix. She flicked her tail before moving onto the hunting crouch once more.

Thank you very much for the feedback! I’ll be sure to bring it up to my mentor so I can be properly taught the different forms.” Flintclaw seemed to be more knowledgeable than her original observation suggested, perhaps she should keep an eye on the warrior and bring him to Bumblestar’s attention for any vacancies in the Hornet team. ( She refused to talk to the head Hornet at this time. That tom has lost his respect in her eyes and didn’t t seem keen on making up what he did to her and her family. ) Of course, whatever promotion the warrior may receive would just have to wait for Rosekit to be in a hornet position first.

Why would medicine cats need dangerous plants? Aren’t herbs meant to.. well, to heal?” Rosekit questioned, raising a small paw to tap on her chin in thought before it dropped, “Perhaps that would be a question for the medicine cats instead, could you tell me about what herbs you’ve gathered? And what they look like so I can have reference for my future patrols. Oh! Also are there any herbs that are gathered more frequently than others? If you’ve noticed that is.
