Mantispaw was just sitting in the apprentices den thinking of a 2 certain someone's. She really wanted to see Cloudedpaw and Beechpaw. They were fun. But she had just felt down lately for some reason. Maybe she was missing all of her siblings that went missing. Not even she knew.
But then a faint voice called her name. Her ears perked up as she peaked out of the den. Was it RedDove?
She ran over to her new mentor and smiled. "You called for me?" |

Reddove turned his russet head as she approached, observing her. There was a lot of potential, as there always was with anycat, it just had to be tapped into, a feat that shouldn't prove difficult. However, Reddove could tell she was the chatty kind just by looking at her. Hopefully that wouldn't prove to be annoying.
"Got claws? Let's use 'em." He offered a small smile, shifting to look at his apprentice completely, even slouching slightly to get down to her level. He'd had younger siblings before, the movement was almost natural. He held out his paw to her, pads pale colored and marbled with darker streaks. He tossed some fur out of his face before he spoke, "You'll be dependin' on these just as much as your teeth. You've got a whole clan to protect, and it's honorable that you'd be willing to do anything, regardless if it benefits you are not." He tensed his paws, large needles revealed.
"These are better for less permanent injuries. But, if you use them well, there's nothing they can't do. Still, a bite is much easier to inflict injuries with. If you keep that short stature ya got there, aim at the legs, throat, and stomach." He leaned back a bit, giving his head a shake just to wave off any dust in the air. "You can also leap onto your opponent to reach their shoulders and lower back. Any injuries there could leave them in a world of hurt, which is exactly what you want."
