Ferncurl could feel another purr rising in her throat, and she didn't protest as Brightfire groomed her again. But she did make a silly comment like,
"Brightfire, what's with all the licks? I'm not a kit, you silly." The golden queen said, giggling. Then, she took on a more thoughtful tone, and said,
"It's not unpleasant, and it's good practice, too. Kits can be high maintenance. But so can I!" Fern laughed again, and licked her mate's cheek before straightening slightly and flicking her long, slim tail.
