The grotesque sounds of unfiltered joy and cheering had woken Dovekit. Her head poked out of the nursery, gaze sweeping over the Clanmates gathered with the intensity of a predator. Looking for one in particular whose memory emerged from a hazy moon of illness recovery.

There, near the back of the crowd. Recognition. Inquisitive, alert green eyes watched him from the confines of the nursery for a few long moments.

Bumblestar's announcement snapped her attention away:

"Alright, listen up, 'cause this is important."

A beat.

Had the ceremonies not been? Dovekit felt a little smile curling over her muzzle, the hint of amusement only captured for an instant before it vanished again.

And upon sensing Spiderthroat's departure was imminent, Dovekit's sustained presence at the meeting lasted about as long as that parody of a smile.
