rookfires maw split into a grin at the question, "you dont" but, he wasnt that cruel. the enforcer pushed past shadowpaw to approach the small cave again, slipping down until he sat hunched over in the small part of the tunnel that had not yet crumpled under the weight of stone. "nothing but spiders and moss"
shaking stray moisture from his pelt, he returned, "seriously, we dont get many snakes here, you dont have to worry" and with that they moved on.


DAWNING WOODS

as the forest cleared, leaving larger and larger spaces between the individual trees, rookfires eyes flicked towards the two apprentices "this part is a bit more dangerous" his maw opened to taste the air, he continued on into the territory. but the air was clear of any predators, while he couldnt entirely disregard the dangers, he knew to be safe for the moment.

"the dawning woods have been a part of our territory for about one season cycle, following the loss of the icy heartlands" stars had it really been almost an entire season cycle? he was getting old. no longer the scrawny apprentice that had sat at the border for almost an entire day before lostspark approached him.

"theres lots of prey around, but large predators frequent it as well. owls, foxes, the works"


DARKWATER MIRE

the closer they got to the marshy wetlands signalling the darkwater mire the more rookfire was pondering his options; tell them what happened and make them reject any possible swim training later on or hope they would never venture close enough to be caught.
"perhaps one of you remembers the ban on darkwater mire during late leaf fall, its generally safe here, lots of berry bushes, birds n squirrels but you should keep away from the water. my former mentor came out here, followed by two traitors. they attacked her and all three ultimately disappeared without a trace.. we suspect its something in the water."

a pity really, despite the mud, rookfire had quite liked the mire. now that it was tinted with the memory of a death... two deaths. fogwatcher shouldnt be forgotten so quickly, especially not when the sight of crimson tainted snow still flashed in front of his inner eye sometimes.
