Briarmask

Briarmask curls her feathered tail around Dreamy as she comes over and buries herself in her pelt, a soft coo escaping her at how adorable she is acting- momentarily distracting her from the impending announcement. Then Breezy comes over as well, her mate pulling her closer. Spiderthroat's raspy voice rings out through the clearing. Oh.

She sits there for a moment, frozen in shock. She knew it was coming, prepared herself for it. And yet her world still feels as if it's shattering around her. She subconsciously nuzzles Acorn back, her eyes wide as she stares up at him. He doesn't stay long, quickly murmuring his farewells before swiftly joining the others in his patrol. Why? Because her husband is always doing things for the clan, he's always pushing himself to protect them. To many it's amiable, and it is, but it just makes her worried sick over him. Her attention is captured however, when Dreams stumbles after him. The sight would usually be enough to prompt tears, but she doesn't have many more to shed after crying herself to sleep last night. And the night before that. The pastel calico gently takes her by the scruff, pulling her back and setting her down at her paws. She lays her muzzle over her head in a comforting gesture, sweeping Breezy over to join them as well.

"It's alright, he'll come back before you know it," She whispers, as much reassuring them as she is herself.

He'll be back... he'll be back soon.
