The queen could tell he regretted it from the tears streaming down his face, but it was too late for regret now.

The she-cat's shoulder throbbed quietly, causing her mild discomfort as she sat, so she slunk down into a laying position. She turned to look at Flintclaw, fully intending on sharing a glare of irritation with the tom.
