There it was. Next day he felt leauges better. His fur was cleaned and minimally groomed. He didn't look amazing, but he didn't look like he'd just died and come back to life again inside of an otter.
He'd made sure Treetiger was all well and squared away before poking his head out. Just as Bumblestar began her speech, he positioned himself beneath the Stormcrest. Ears angled backwards so he could hear her properly, while keeping an eye on the crowd. Keeping an eye on anyone who showed anger, or anything else of the sort.
There was news he had to share, news that Bumblestar didn't know of yet, news that is no longer her problem now that she'd officially stepped down. Once again, she was Bumblebreak once more. Strong pillar of the community, still as much raw power, just minimalized, condensed.
He hadn't missed the hornets gaze, the quiet, soft threat. In response, and in a rag tag attempt to ease her worries, he smirked. A lop sided, awkward, toothy smirk. He had no doubts. He'd killed other ranks for doing nothing but sitting. If he ended up that way, he expected her to take him on a ... walk.
As she stepped off the Stormcrest, he took his first pawstep on. Ah yes, the one thing he hated the most. Public speaking. He loathed it, truthfully. But it was something that he would really have to get used to. Fast. Apparently. He'd done it maybe twice what's doing it again.
"Alright ThunderClan you heard her." a pause, making sure he was standing comfortably. Making sure he looked somewhat sensible. "If I hear anything bad about Bumblebreak steppin down, you're dealin with me first and foremost. After living through seasons of having leaders that just sat or left when something got somewhat hard, she was a breath of fresh air. She pulled ThunderClan from the depths of hell by her fangs and claws." he began. Tail lashing behind him, his tone was serious, no room for backsass. "We were RiverClan but worse, I'm sure some of you could remember Dawnstar and when she 'took over.' " he rolled his eyes and scowled. "So be sure to give her the upmost respect, stepping down ain't always bad, an it takes some courage to do so. She worked harder than most of you, and I hope to see a good chunk of you work just as hard so we can keep the rock rollin." he hummed.
"I'll head to the Starcave or wherever's needed n chat with em. But before I do that. I don't care for sittin and waiting. I don't care to watch n see which one will work extra hard while the deputy spot is open. It's not somethin I enjoy watchin. So we aren't waitin, we want ranks filled and we want em filled fast. This past moon has helped me see who works hard an where. So!" a pause as he cleared his throat.

"Flintclaw. Step forwards for me."
He wasn't going to wait too long honestly. He'd already seen the warrior was in the Clearing. Sitting and watching. Which was perfect.
"Do you, Flintclaw. Promise to uphold the wills of those who died fighting for this Clan, the wills of those who are still fighting for this clan, and to do your utmost diligence an duty in makin sure the clan stays a cut above the rest?"
Spiderth-Spiderstar continued to stare at Flintclaw. Truth be told he was expecting to attempt to take him on as a hornet. But that was when he was expecting to stay deputy, and Bumblebreak stay leader.
