Flintclaw watched Spiderthroat step up and listened. Their new leader. He still held on that he was more than capable. He could be jabbed all day, but he refused to let Reddove and Pineblossom get him to break. That may not have been true with just a few more jabs... Perhaps he wasn't going to be so nice. He had no interest in insulting Bumblebreak, nor interest in saying a thing about his opinions on the timing. He was already making a plan on how to tell the red warrior off for his senseless insults...

Then it all disappeared as the meeting continued.

Flintclaw's ears perked up, the real one and the phantom one that burned when it moved. Spider...star wasted no time indeed. His name was called. He felt simultaneously hot and cold. It was unexpected. He had wanted to make his name well known. He had thought about the hornets. He had thought it would take longer to build himself up that high.

The dark tabby stood, lightly acknowledging Pineblossom's nod with his own. He looked up at his new leader, ignoring the aches and pains and holding his head high. "I do." He replied, his voice more like gravel than a rasp as he raised it to ensure the entire clan heard him. The pain in his chest felt distant. He would do everything in his power to help his new leader smoothly transition into the spot, and help lead the clan. Even as he said it, he felt both overwhelmed and overjoyed. He had a lot about the position he would need to learn.

He could not fail this. He would not fail Thunderclan.
