Her instantly alarmed reaction was amusing. He smirked happily, glancing over briefly. "Hey now, don't see yourself too short," he said. "I feel like you'd be a halfway decent high rank." There was some truth to his words, as always, but he could tell he was freaking her out. Hm, maybe time for a subject change.

But Spiderstar was talking again, scolding some tardy apprentices. He scoffed. "You'd think they'd be a little more excited to get out of the apprentice's den, huh?" he said under his breath, loud enough for those in the near vicinity to hear. He'd only been in the den for about a moon and he was already getting tired of the lot. Although from what he'd observed, some of the warriors were just as bad. Little Dovekit was more tolerable than a couple of them. And she was weird.

The last couple apprentices stepped up, and he shifted with anticipation. He liked hearing the new warrior names. Gave him some inspiration for what his name was going to sound like. Hopefully something epic and more creative than "Scorpiontail." He knew his tail was crooked, he didn't need another reminder.
