After a long moment of staring into nothing, it occurred to Dreamykit that Papa and Mama and Cloves and Lili and Kessy and Flames and--- well, everyone, wasn't in sight. She blinked. Weren't they here a minute ago? White-gray paws carried her forward, heterochromic eyes glancing uncertainly around her. Scraps of fur and claws and muzzles and ears flashed in her eyes. Lots of cats everywhere. She dimly remembered something like this before---But she was with her family then. Where they? She couldn't recognize any pelt colors.

one of Dreamykit's curled ear twitched when she heard her name called, ringing clearly through the camp---and she realized that Bri's and her siblings name's were called, too. Wha?.. Why? She turned around in a circle, utterly confused. She blinked, shrinking closer to the ground, as if just realizing the many unfamiliar cats around her, bustling for space and meowing greetings and smells jumbling and it was so much. She automatically closed her eyes, squeezing them shut. Aa- aaa.. a- aa..

The nursery was nothing like this. The nursery was comforting and calm and the opposite of overwhelming. The nursery. Go to the nursery. Is safe. There.

Dreamykit grasped for the faint memory of the quiet, safe nursery and the warm calming scents of milk drifting through the still air, the soft moss all around cushioning her. The details all seemed blurry and the memory flickered distantly like a mirage as she tried, tried to remember--- then, suddenly the memory rushed over her and she could almost hear the gentle murmur of kits and queens and see the soft dappling of light reaching through the branches, giving everything a dim and gentle glow. The memory was in the forefront of her mind now, everything else faded and faint, as if reality was the memory instead. She relaxed immediately, surrendering herself to her mind and her dream.

She could've stayed like that forever, if not for a thread of a warm, familiar, safe, loving scent creeping itself into her dream. She didn't think anything of it, at first---Her mother's scent was normal for the atmosphere of the nursery. What woke her up---not fully, at least, but what woke her body up--- was a muzzle softly brushing against her white-gray fur, gently nudging her in a direction. Her eyes opened immediately, and she automatically complied, legs following close to her mother. She didn't notice the overwhelming bustling of the clearing anymore. Her mind was still adjusting away from her vision back into real life. She wasn't thinking anything---rather, her brain felt all soft and fuzzy and it was enveloping her consciousness right now, unable to comprehend anything else. Her body moved automatically.

It was only when they stopped---and she ran into Briarmask, not expecting the change--- did she blink, her mind slipping away from the fog. Blue-and-green eyes looked up at her mother as a tongue rasped her fur. She was aware of Flamekit next to her. Flamey, Flames, brother. She wondered how he had gotten there.

Follow you're siblings, dears.

"Ww..why?" she mumbled as she stumbled away from her mother. She didn't want to leave Mama. My mama, safe love mama. A memory surfaced from her mind, one more recent yet still foggy like all of hers. One of a voice she didn't know calling her name and her siblings. Maybe 'cause that, she thought. But... Dreamykit didn't want to leave Mama. But Mama had told her to go find them. So she walked away, glancing backward, seeing Briarmask turn away to someone bigger than her but not bigger than Bri, and not Papa.

Now alone, she stared around her uncertainly---she didn't see her siblings at all. It was still loud, still crowded, but she had gotten used to it by now and didn't need to retreat into her mind. A flash of a familiar color crossed her gaze. Sibling? No, someone else. Dreamykit hesitated, feeling lost and also something else she couldn't put a name to yet, so she ignored it. There maybe..? She walked closer, trying not to get trampled in the process, although that was a thought closer to the back of her head than it probably should be. A ding of recognition went off in her mind---they were her siblings. Breezy and Cloves and Leopard. She approached them and kind of just stood there, wondering what would happen next and why she needed to go here and also why she had to leave Mama. The last thought was the biggest one in her little head right now. It didn't occur to her that she hadn't announced her presence or said anything yet.
