Silverleopard’s curled ears twitched, and she tucked her paws beneath her chest. “I don’t see why any cat would doubt your loyalty, Flintclaw. If Spiderstar saw it fit to choose you as deputy, then he obviously had a reason,” she meowed, her ice-blue eyes narrowing down to slits. “Just like he did when he chose Dragonflypaw as our medicine cat apprentice. If you ask me, you both are doing well.”

Spiderstar had filled in the empty High Rank spots the moment Bumblebreak had stepped down, and Silverleopard didn’t blame him. She knew that he didn’t want ThunderClan to seem weak. If anything, she knew he wanted ThunderClan to seem strong.

Okay, now Flintclaw was pretty sure she was just trying to get some kind of favor with him. It had been, what, a day? A couple days? The dark tabby's tail laid still for a moment. "No one can doubt my loyalty," He replied coolly, pulling his numb paw up to start the process of trying to feel all the bits of dirt that he couldn't feel. It was slowly becoming an obsession of his, ensuring that the numb appendage stayed clean. "Nor yours." He added after a momentary pause.

Silverleopard, while he was not overly familiar with her, was certainly a dedicated thunderclan warrior. She was also quite capable. Suspicion itched his pelt as he wondered what purpose she had to be throwing out so many compliments, though. "Dragonflypaw will have a lot to learn, but she will grow into the position well, I'm sure." He continued his routine, chewing out a clump of dirt between his toes that would've probably been quite irritating if he could feel it there. This is why he groomed it so much.
