Silverleopard frowned at the deputy’s pause. Had she done something wrong? Stars above, she was just trying to be nice. The bengal’s ears flicked, letting Flintclaw know that she had caught on to his suspicion of her.

~~~ Flintclaw's ear twitched dismissively as the warrior apologized. He was 'clearly uncomfortable', was he? That certainly wasn't the right words at all. He was pretty sure nothing he did was outside the normal. No need to correct her was felt, though. She could believe whatever she pleased. Maybe it would stop her from prodding him for some kind of appreciation again. The deputy just continued grooming, switching from one paw to the other and cleaning his face while he was at it.
