Heal...Himself. The former medic flinched, trying to keep himself from bolting. That was not what he came for. He came to be healed and leave. Fadingpaw clenched his jaws, trying not to choke on the blood he still felt surrounded by.

Slowly, the medic shakily made his way over to the herb storage, Dull green eyes scanning over the herbs. It hurt to be in here, to look at the herbs, to look at the den. It reminded him of what he had done, how he failed. It was such a stupid mistake.

First he needed to...clean. Clean the wound off. He grabbed some moss and dipped it in the stream inside the den. Fadingpaw then sat down - A very rare sight, that last happened over 10 moons ago - and ignored how weird it felt sitting, grabbing the wet moss with a paw and pushing it against his muzzle. He repeated it another time to ensure it was clean before standing up limping back to the herb storage, disposing of the moss as well. Despite how much he hated it, he was in his element here.

Fadingpaw wiped away the tears that welled at his eyes, and reached for some horsetail before pausing. Instead, he grabbed chervil, chewing up the herb while reaching for a cobweb. Once the herb was chewed up into a poultice, he spat it out onto the cobweb. He laid down grabbing the cobweb-chervil pair and pressing it against the spot on his muzzle that gave him pain.

He used his claws to gently move the cobweb out of the way of his nose so he could breathe. The application was probably messy since he couldn't see his muzzle, but that should do good enough.

The tom snapped out of his mindset, his eyes growing sadder once more. It was strange - he never realized how much it was like being in a trance while healing.

"C-Cl. Een. W-Wou.nd. C-Cher.vi.l. Im-fect. ons." That was all he would stutter out without the feeling of the lump in his throat suffocating him. That and the fact his wound went from above the mouth to his chin, meaning the cobweb had to cover part of his mouth.

The large tom's fur started bristling when his dull green eyes landed on the warriors still in the den - Bumble, Violetfreckle and... Muddy. He winced, quickly looking away. He didn't have the guts or the heart to approach them. After all, after what happened, he probably lost the cat that had raised him and cared for him when nobody else had.

The only reason Fadingpaw lingered in the horrid den was so the medic(s) could examine his method. The large cat would wait to be dismissed - he didn't want to worsen relationships that were already sunken. His slow movements while healing should have left time for Treetiger to examine

She caught that second guessing as Fadingpaw reached for the first herb before settling with the second. Her gaze hardened a little at the lack of words. That was not what she'd asked. "Why'd you reach for the first one? What's the benefit of switching to Chervil?" Treetiger barked the questions, her tail tip twitching as she waited for the answer. He wouldn't get out of this situation easily. She could feel the discomfort radiating from him, but that wouldn't stop her.

Of course, however, her gaze studied his work, her paws reaching up to fix anything that would start to peel. It was hard to bandage oneself and as much as Treetiger was upset with Fadingpaw, she wouldn't let him drown yet. He was one cat she'd turned to about her voices before. She couldn't let him slip their secret to anyone... if he even remembered it to begin with. A slip up meant she'd have to silence him... and no one wants that bumblebreak would.
