The dreaded question, the one question that Silentshade had no answer for. 'why do you always sleep in the warriors den?' her precious son had asked. "Well sweetie, um...." She called for Brackenheart in her head as her mind whirled for excuses. Suddenly, Brackenheart popped up, a pebble in his mouth. "Hey Thornkit, do you think this will please your mother?" He asked then bounded up to his friend. "Silentshade, what is wrong? Do you feel sick, are you sick? do you need to go lie down?! I can watch him!" Silentshade shook her head, "He asked why do i sleep in the warriors den, what do I say? It would be hard on him that-"Brackenheart cut her off. "You need to say the truth, it would be easier for all three of us now than later on in his life." Silentshade nodded and called to Thornkit. "Sweetie, there is something me and your father need to tell you, and please don't be mad; and it's okay if you have questions, Brackenheart and I will try to answer them as best as we can....."
