It was known that Noirepaw enjoyed learning. She was quite the intelligent one, always ready to absorb something new. When she was finally assigned a mentor, she couldn't wait to tell her mother and siblings! It was a wonderful feeling to finally have someone to teach you everything that was taught to them. Noirepaw felt that she was one step closer to becoming an awesome warrior in the future. ''It's an honor to be your apprentice.'' She gushed, feeling the tip of her ears rise in temperature with a smile gracing her face. Upon his next words, Noirepaw had nodded. It made sense that he wanted to bring her out early when everyone was still practically asleep...in comfy nests...where she would be dozing off. The small black she cat shook her head, trying to rid the thought of sleep at all costs. ''That makes sense,'' She nodded. ''Too many cats could be in the way. Especially with every mentor trying to train their apprentice!'' She giggled. Upon his next question, Noirepaw was indecisive. She truly didn't know which one she wanted to take on first. After all, they were both skills she needed to build up--and, she had plenty days to perfect that. The apprentice debated in her head the pros and cons of each category. She was quite the indecisive one when it came to choices. Even the smallest of choices, but eventually she chose hunting. ''We can do hunting first.'' She smiled. She only chose hunting because she was still tired. Too tired to be fighting, but learning how to hunt? That would keep her moving around, and thus waking up to fully start her day.
A low, rumbling purr came from the young tom-cat when he saw how his apprentice acted, it made him smile by how she was so kind-hearted and also quite mature for her age. “Hunting it is then.” Sproutwhisker remarked with a warm smile on his face, “With these early hours, the prey won’t expect us coming.” He gave a slight yawn, which made his whiskers twitch back and forth before he heaved himself to a standing position. “If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. I don’t expect you to know everything on your first day, but I can tell that you are smart and will learn quickly - I wish I was like that at your age.” The warrior chuckled, talking like he was some elder, even though he was far from being that old, “Come along then, Noirepaw.” Sproutwhisker padded past her, flicking the smaller cat’s shoulder with the tip of his tail as he padded through the clearing. He glanced behind him to make sure she was following. “While on our way, how about we brush up on some common clan knowledge - do you know any of the warrior code?” The tom-cat asked, his ear twitching ever so slightly to the noises in the distant forest. It was a beautiful day, with no rain or troubles in sight, he could only hope that it would stay this calm and successful. So far, he enjoyed being a mentor.
