He wondered if the sturdy feline ever got flustered before this moment, but then he wondered if Spicepaw was even truly embarrassed right then. After all, the smile could just be a smile? But Quillpaw decided to please himself, and decided Spicey was embarrassed.
``Great!`` The multi-colored apprentice chirped, walking alongside the older tom. Quillpaw felt tingles in his pelt during the shared silence, which he strongly disliked. He never liked to leave himself alone with his mind - it was boring. And his brain worked better when he was talking, or doing something productive. But the silence helped him realize something. With a tone laced with both shock and sadness, Quillpaw announced, ``I don't have a favorite place in the territory.`` He looked very torn apart at this realization, his eyes narrowed sadly and his mouth curved downward in a frown.
Quillpaw grew up around toms, his father and his two brothers. He wasn't very educated on the identity of his biological mother, and his father was too distant to ever bring her up. His father, Frostedhawk, was a cold, distant, but loyal warrior. He genuinely loved his father, despite the tough-love. And his brothers he loved, as well. Mudpaw was the best sibling he could ever ask for, but Foampaw was a different story. Foampaw was similar to Frostedhawk personality-wise, but much more cold and distant, and arrogant. Often, Quillpaw would wonder if Foampaw even cared about him.
He came from a large family, but hadn't ever met anyone outside his nuclear kin. Quillpaw felt like a stranger in his family, as if he was just a small piece to an insanely-large puzzle. If he were missing from the puzzle, nobody would notice nor care because they wouldn't see the tiny blank space where he should fit. A majority of his immediate family were also distant, as explained before, which made it seem as if Quillpaw didn't even share a biological link with them. But he tried not to think about it too much.

Spicepaw's ears were perked as he listened for the sound of gentle, bubbling water. The sound that would lead him straight to one of his favorite places in the territory. Now, he may be afraid of water, but the russet-colored apprentice still appreciated the beauty of it. And this pool they were heading to was all beauty and no fear. He especially loved the way the sun set in it, casting it's brilliant rays across the crystal-clear surface. Too bad that it was sun high right now, but the pond would still be beautiful, with how clear and glassy it was. And the babbling stream that flowed into it, the sound was always a comfort to Spicepaw. He was kind of a contradiction there. He was afraid of water, but he was comforted by the sound of it. I guess that's just one of the perks of being a Riverclan cat, through and through.
At Quillpaw's realization, Spicepaw couldn't stand the tone of his voice. This cat was supposed to be happy and care-free, and Spicepaw was supposed to have a good time out here with him. And he would make sure of that. "Don't worry, I didn't have any favorite places when I was your age. You just have to find them as you grow older and explore more of the territory." Spicepaw hopes he had convinced the younger tom. Especially since his words were true.
As they continued walking, Spicepaw decided they could try and make small talk. "So, um... What type of family do you come from?" It was the only thing that popped into his head. He knew families could be a touchy subject, he'd been there, done that. But if Quillpaw was willing to talk about his family, then Spicepaw would do the same. "I come from a very large family." Ot was true. Spicepaw did have quite a large family. Just a lot of them had died. Especially his siblings. Who he could just call his sisters, since he really had no brothers. Something that Spicepaw didn't mind much.

Even more if the cat was from another clan, or a loner in this case. For some strange reason, it felt as though she would be more embarrassed in front of him, more than any other cat. Except for maybe Cottonfrost... No! This cat was here now. Not Adderfangs, not Cottonfrost. She was talking to this cat who's name she either didn't know or didn't remember.
Doesong looked at the reddish colored tom, waiting for his reply. She didn't dare move any closer, she was fine where she was. Sitting where she had been for a few seconds, waiting for his answer. She wasn't the best at waiting, she was rather impatient. However, it had only been one second, Doesong could stand that long.

"Doesong." Burn repeated her name quietly, feeling it on his tongue. A pretty name for a pretty she-cat. Burn usually would say that out loud, but with the backstory he'd given her, that wouldn't work. In her eyes, he was a poor heartbroken loner, who only wanted shelter. So getting her to love him was actually going to take some time. And more work than he was used to. Unlike Ambercrackle. The Skyclan she-cat that Burn had manipulated not too long ago had been one of his easiest victims. She was just so gullible and ready to fall in love. Young too. Burn supposed he would be seeing her again sometime soon. She'd probably forgive him for leaving her, accepting any excuse that he made up. She was probably one of the prettiest she-cats Burn had met. Aside from Mapleheart. We don't think about her remember? Burn had to remind himself about that.
So, his name.... What should he use this time? He'd used his regulate name, Burn, with Searwhisper, and then Flicker with Ambercrackle. He supposed that he'd have to pick a strong but malleable name for Doesong. "My name is Flame." Something simple and strong. Good choice Burn.
