After all, the havana apprentice probably wouldn't stop even if he asked her to - which Lunarpaw almost found funny and perhaps he would have found it funnier had he not been so annoyed by it at the same time.
Though, the multicolored tom never found it fun to listen to stories in which a young cat didn't have parents. At least this "Wolfdancer" had found her. That was good, right? Now she had a... sort of Mother. Lunarpaw wished the feline had been around when he was a kit. Or even a young apprentice. Growing up without parents was never easy, and even if you were adopted by another cat... it just wasn't the same, was it? Though Briarpaw sounded like she was glad to have an adoptive Mother. "Well it's good that Wolfdancer adopted you then." Lunarpaw mewed. His lack of care - or at least seemingly lack of care - would have bothered any other cat, but Briarpaw seemed to be taking it in stride.
Honestly? It didn't surprise the apprentice one bit. She just was that type of a cat. Once more, he seemed to be moving a little bit fowards... until her remark of being "a kittypet like him." One step foward, two steps back. That was how it seemed to be going right now. Or, maybe it was more like two steps forward, one step back... it'd be making more progress, but Lunarpaw wasn't sure that they were. "I'm not a kittypet." The words were spoke in a low, savage tone, and for a moment he almost wanted to offset her with his differently colored face and eyes. He wasn't a kittypet. And yet it was something he got teased about for those who knew about his own past -
kittypet, kittypet, soft and useless kittypet.
Taunting, jeering, horrible words that stuck in Lunarpaw's mind when he had been scared and alone. Good thing he'd learned how to guard himself better now. "They left me. Any parents who would do that don't deserve kits so no, I wouldn't." Even though there was a small longing to know where and who his kittypet parents were, Lunarpaw stood by his words. Anyone who would ditch a kit like that, and especially one with such a... unique appearance didn't deserve to have them.

Briarpaw flattened her ears hearing his tone lower, instantly regretting what she called him. Kittypet, one of the worst things to compare a forest cat to. "W-Well, when I meant a kittypet like you, I didn't mean to insult you. You aren't really soft like one, and you aren't as fat as a kittypet either." Realizing she was only making her situation worse, not better, for herself, she chuckles and smiles nervously. "Um... n-nevermind about you and kittypets." She decided to stop the talk about parents. She was sure that the menrioning of parents brought painful memories back from the dead. He expressed his feelings about Wolfdancer finding and taking in her as a small defenseless kit. Yet she still continued to talk about kittypets, the thing she was fully aware of his parents being. She thought she was being conservative of his feelings and past, but she still talks about a topic that triggers bad feelings and bad memories. "I don't think I would ever want to become a kittypet. I like to run around and have some space to be free. If I was forced to stay in a twoleg's nest for the rest of my life, I would go crazy!" She meowed, rolling around playfully, trying to ease any internal tension. "Wolfdancer told me that kittypets have big bellies because they eat so much, they can get really lazy and aren't too interested in finding mates and they are too bothered to chase after a mouse. They are really pretty though, I've heard. An apprentice said it was because of how they are cleaned. Still, having to wait for some twoleg to tell me when I can go outside or not doesn't sit well with me."
