Collin picked up the book on his nightstand, scrolling through the pages. People at school made fun of him for reading, to an extent where they started to bully him. But he didn't care. A book was a way to escape reality, to be in a tale that wasn't real. He looked over to the catbed that used to belong to his
cat used to sleep. The 17 year old let out a sigh, sadness gleaming in his eyes.
Faye scribbled down answers down on the worksheet her parents made her do. Her cheek still stung from her mothers slap. Luckily she didn't get too bad of a punishment from getting a problem wrong since it would be a school day soon. Faye looked out the window. She wished her parents weren't so mean. That they wouldn't use her for bragging rights. That they loved her.
