I hope our leader has given those ThunderClanners something to cry about." Any conversation was better than their previous one, and this one suited the situation well.

The tom tried to follow the path he remembered from his previous gathering, getting quite used to the path now that he'd begun to travel behind the rest. He still stayed close to Stoneheart for her approval of the path he was taking, as he couldn't really be certain, could he? His memory was spotty at best, especially considering paths to follow or techniques to learn. Sometimes he just had to place his trust in those cats he was envious of, if only in silence.

"Of course... Maybe they're so full of their own pride they start causing trouble." Even a cat of his capacity knew that fighting at a gathering was forbidden, which was why he was so hesitant to go. His temper combined with a need for approval and proof of his fighting ability was a toxic mix to take into the gathering, supposedly a time of peace for the clans. He didn't want to be a further burden on them, so keeping his distance was the best he could do.
