As the fox turned on Hareflight, EaglePelt heard her wail. At that, the fox seemed to forget that the blind tom was clinging to its back as it attempted to pounce towards Hareflight. While the canine was distracted, EaglePelt wrapped his front limbs around its neck and slashed deep with his claws. The fox let out an eerie pain-filled caterwaul and threw EaglePelt off. As the blind tom landed a few tail lengths away with a painful umph! the fox ran off yelping. After a second, it was gone.
EaglePelt stood, pretty much unharmed. No injuries in need of a medicine cat, amazingly. Just a very dirty pelt and extreme need of rest.
He padded over to Hareflight. ''You were incredible'' he meowed. He licked all over her face, then nuzzled her cheek. ''You were absolutely amazing.'' As he spoke, he twined his tail with hers.

Her fur fluffed up in embarrassment, "It was nothing. You were the incredible one- you just leapt on that fox!"
She looked down at the ruined rabbit, "Too bad we were too late to save the prey."
She felt her heart melt as her twined his tail with hers and nuzzled her cheek, looking away shyly.
