DawnKit mewed softly as her mother spoke to her, her small eyes would slightly tug open with every lick on her tiny head. She could hardly tell her eyes were opening. Her one eye was a beautiful deep honey color, while the other seemed to have a white cover over it making the yellow dim on the left side.

"mom" she stuttered out softly, being one of the first words she had heard her siblings say she wanted to say it as well. She felt her mothers warm and purred as her mother groomed her. As far as DawnKit knew, nothing was wrong with her eyes. All she knew is that the other cats called her 'weak' because she was 'premature.' Not that she knew what those words meant, but she didn't care. She mewed softly, her eyes blinking open for only a split second. She couldn't hold them open, but she could very occasionally open them. She flopped onto her belly since her legs were weak, hardly holding her up as she attempted to stand. She purred more, feeling her mothers warmth and smelling her sweet scent.

Gorsebird continued to let out soft purrs and coos and she groomed her daughter before looking down and letting out a loud shriek when she saw her eyes, "I-I-GaH!" She screeched nearly jumping out of the nest at the sight, "Y-your eye! It's h-h-hideous! You're hideous!" Gorsebird bawled fresh tears starting at the realization that something was wrong with her kitten.
