She had trouble sleeping and the one spot she could sleep was right where she was. She had promised herself she wouldn't sleep long and realizing this in her dream, the feline jumped awake. The lanky ebony feline's eyes were wide and pupils dialated as she realized, now awake, she had slept for longer than she had intended to. "Oh...Mockingfeather isn't going to be too happy about me staying outside of camp this long..." She murmured guiltily to herself, before something caught her eye. Turning her head a little bit, the feline spotted another resting cat. Taking a few steps foward, she stopped just a tail length away. Leaning down, she peered at the cat, silently, carefully as to not wake the sleeping feline. She smiled softly, noticing who it was. Shadepaw. A feline most female apprentice's hoped to end up with when they became warriors. Pondpaw, too, had secretly wished to get close to the tom. However, the younger apprentice knew that she was no match for Shadepaw. A prettier, smarter, and stronger she-cat would be best fit for the observant, charasmatic tom cat that lay before her. With a flick of her tail-tip, she stood up. "Sleep well..." she whispered before turning slowly and began to tip-toe away. Pondpaw wasn't exactly the quietest or most observant feline, and so as she padded away she stepped on a stick, snapping it with a loud crack. CRACK
The crack awoke Shadepaw instantly - his pale green eyes flew open, fangs bared in a snarl as he spun around to see who it was… ”Ah. Pondpaw.” Embarrassed by his mistake, the tom quickly his appearance to a calmer, politer one… he had a reputation for not being startled by such silly things. How humiliating. Embarrassed by a pipsqueak. For someone who appeared so polite and spoke with such charm, Shadepaw was not the kindest cat. You would be lucky to avoid him, really; except that didn’t seem to be how most cats felt. ”To what do I owe the pleasure?” She must not have heard him beforehand - perhaps Shadepaw would get a fresh start. He certainly could not forge an identity for himself… he’d heard of some cats doing that, but he simply wasn’t good enough. ”Oh, and my apologies for my actions earlier… there are a few cats who don’t like me in our Clan, I’ve learned to be a light sleeper because of them - I certainly didn’t mean to frighten you at all.” It was true that Shadepaw had made some enemies, but he didn’t feel that sorry for his actions… after all, he had only been doing what any sensible warrior would do. And since he would be a warrior soon, it was only right that he should act like one of them. Perhaps there would be… different cats to keep company with once he had moved up a rank. As a kit, Shadepaw had admired apprentices… as a younger apprentice, he had admired the higher ranks… and now he admired the warriors. Hardworking, dedicated cats who had only one life to give and gave it to their Clan. Perhaps the deputy fit among them, but he still didn’t admire them as much. Once he was a warrior? Well then… then he would admire no one.

PROFILE PICTURE REFERENCE

I mentioned on my profile that I was starting over. A fresh start is best for me right now; I've created quite a few new characters, and they will all be on my site, but not all will be used in roleplay right away. it's likely I'll bring them in more gradually.
