Smallleopard waited in anticipation for her apprentice's answer. She could feel Dawnpaw would get it right. She seemed knowledgeable enough. The moment Smallleopard enjoyed most, was when she saw the answer light up in the apprentice's eyes. She could almost feel when she was an apprentice herself again, with the excitement of new knowledge, and sense of belonging. It was such a fond memory for her, and getting to pass this joy of knowledge onto someone else only increased her love and sense of loyalty to her clan. She stood for a moment, wondering how kittypets, loners, and rouges could bear not being in a clan. "Yes, wonderful job." She purred gently, signaling to her apprentice that she had done a good job. She took one more cautionary glance over the border, before turning around and padding away. "Well let's move on, but I warn you the next territory may not be so obvious! You'll have to rely on your eyes for the next one. Smelling their scent won't give you many clues."

"Well I'm up for the challenge!" Dawnpaw cried excitedly. She followed her mentor, lashing her tail in excitement as they continued along the territory. "I think I'll get it right." She boasted.
