Trixie hadn't been watching the younger cat, instead moving with a look of concentration on her face as she focused on their surroundings, retracing her earlier steps. She faintly heard the pawsteps of Russus as he moved farther away, but she kept it to the back of her mind as she trusted her younger sibling to not lose track of her. This wasn't their first time exploring together, after all. When she heard him yowl for her, however, all focus on the forest vanished as she spun to face him, taking in the situation before dashing over to him. She knew he wouldn't drown- she'd made him suffer through some basic swimming lessons in the past- but she still didn't want to chance it. Moving down the slippery slope, she gripped Russus by the back of his neck and scrambled backwards. At first, she lost her footing and slipped down the slope with him, but by some miracle she managed to get enough traction to pull them back and away from the downhill descent toward the lake. She took a moment to calm herself before placing her gaze on the tom. "You okay?" She asked, regaining her breath; her brother wasn't as small as he used to be, and pulling him took more energy from her than she'd expected.

The calico grunted since her grip was starting to get uncomfortable and cringed as he felt his stomach dragging across the damp dirt, he tried using his hind paws to help push himself up but they slipped a few times. He panicked when his sister lost her footing making him wide eyed and release a yell, though he calmed down quite a bit once they were finally back on dryer land and away from the slop making him pant out of exhaustion that the fear caused and to sit down . The tom bent down to wash his stomach since it was streaked with mud making him gag a bit as he cleaned himself,he liked being rebellious and all but he didn't like his fur being completely dirty, his right ear flicked when trix spoke making him pause only to give his attention to her "other than being scared out of my pelt .....yeah....thanks sis... " he answered sounding a bit out of breath from the fright . His ears folded back a bit as he looked down for a minute before looking back at her "were still going to see the dog riiight?...I swear I thought I was in the right track! But I guess my mind was too much in the clouds ..." he meowed sounding embarrassed near the end making him return to cleaning his fur.
