She had a small smile pricking her face yet a straight face broadened cutting off the look before it could be shown to its fullest. Lots of cats had caused her emotional harm yet she hadn’t felt this much pain for a long time as the thoughts of Sprucepaw flooded her senses trying not to show Windystar her anger, the anger that was dormant under her thick skin.

Feathercry gave a knowing look as Windystar spoke about being lost in his thoughts, it was a place she wanted to escape to more often yet she found it so hard to do the facts of the harsh world that surrounded her pulled her back to reality again and again and again. Windystar really was doing well for himself proving everything as her hazel eyes set in on the Tom. “It happens.” she meowed her voice rumbling “it’s easy when we’re in such a lovely place away from the bad things.” her voice seemed higher as she tried to put on a cover. The molly gave a look of calm as her eyes scanned the white and green territory around them.

The tan feline could feel the emotion in the air. A smile, no - it was gone. But this cat - Feathercry, if he was remembering the name right - seemed... interesting. He sensed too many emotions, or maybe some of those were coming from him. Anger, betrayal, sadness... the last one was probably combing from him. Maybe even the first two. After all, he still felt the sting of betrayal from the last war. Windystar hadn’t come around and forgiven Goldeneye yet, much less Fallenstar. Oh, his blood boiled at the very thought of his name. Of the tom who took his only life in order to get him out of the way. No, Windystar had to focus. Focus on here, on now.

He had a habit for getting lost in his thoughts, he was a rather easily distracted cat himself. Not that that helped him any. He loved talking, but had fallen into some sort of routine as leader. Honestly, as deputy, he could talk to whoever he wanted whenever and a friendly chat would just be normal. As a leader, he felt that that was over. He had to word everything do carefully, it almost ate at him. Like right now, he wanted to have a normal, INFORMAL conversation but no. He had to talk less and smile more. So he simply nodded when Feathercry dragged him out of his thoughts once more. Instead of concentrating on his thoughts, he nodded again at the female and stalked forward, pinpointing what seemed to be a mouse. Hmm, not too bad. It had its back toward the leader as he crept up on it, and he had almost made it. But the clumsy cat tripped on a root - a tree root, of all things! - and landed with a thud directly behind the mouse. It gave a squeak, and Windystar moved his paw in a vain attempt to trap it. And he did - for a split second. Before it bit his paw and scrambled into a small hole nearby. “Yowch,” he murmured before standing up, expecting Feathercry to at least chuckle at him. Which was fine, he was laughing himself.
