The sun was low on the horizon, peaking just above the treetops as though it were shy and timid, the sky dotted with an array of sensational colours. Pinks, oranges, yellows all filled the sky and made Mintflower feel a little more fulfilled by her choices. She was not far from the territory's edge, having been walking for a while now, when she came to a sudden stop. Her icy gaze had glanced over a small colony of wildflowers, hidden in amongst the thick foliage around them. They were mostly yellow, a few white ones dotted in here and there, and Mintflower quickly found herself staring at them. She must have looked like a kit, captivated by the new-leaf flowers. But although it was only a small joy in her life, she would die before she allowed maturity to rid her of her love of flowers. But alas, the small she-cat could not remain there forever and forced herself to continue walking, her pace slightly faster than before. She wondered if anyone else was coming on the patrol, having not really planned it beforehand - with no deputy, Riverclan was at a bit of a loss when it came to planning patrols, hunting parties, etc. She felt sorry for Fallenstar having to do it all alone, but she knew him to be a strong leader - he would not fall short of perfection when it came to his clan. Going alone made no difference to the molly, but a small part of her had wished she had some company. She'd lost friends in the peacemaker war, and had felt lonelier than ever these past moons. Sighing, she halted at the territory's edge, tasting the air around her for any unusual scents.

Frostflight's breath clung to the thick morning air, descending above his head and dissipating as it reached towards the colorful sky. There was nothing quite like a morning like this to put him in a good mood, something that had been frequently sought after by the young warrior. Inhaling deeply, Frostflight continued his brisk run towards the border taking care that he didn't get side tracked. He had been assigned to the morning patrol and, clearly, it had set off without him... well, he thought. He had seen Mintflower at least leaving camp and, if he remembered correctly, she was the other portion of the patrol. Hopefully she wouldn't be angry with him for being late. She didn't seem like the type of cat that would be, but regardless he had slept in and that at least deserved a disappointing gaze or something! Each paw step squished and squelched underneath him as he picked his way quickly through the swampy territory, every so often stopping to taste the most recent scent just to make sure he was on the right path. Once he determined correctly, he would continue parallel with the border, though occasionally his icy gaze would rise to admire the now yellowing sky. As he scaled over top the crest of a hill, the warrior caught sight of Mintflower just up ahead. With no moment of hesitation, Frostflight rushed down the hill, his voice echoing through the silent - and no longer peaceful - territory. "I'm here!" The silver tom yowled, skidding to a stop beside the fellow warrior, his claws sinking into the marsh for extra grip. With a few puffs of breath, Frostflight would turn his gaze up to meet Mintflower's. "I'm here, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake up so late." His eyes flashed with guilt as he apologized, hoping she would understand. But now that it was out of the way, it was time to get to patrolling! "Have you noticed anything?" His voice was quite breathy as he continued to control his breathing, though the tom immediately squared up, ears perked forward and eyes scanning the border line for anything suspicious.
