"Umberpaw," He mouthed quietly to himself, whispering the name to keep it in his mind. He saw her around camp a lot and didn't want to deal with the trouble of embarrassing himself if they happened to speak again. As the other apprentice continued speaking, Spiderpaw perked up in curiosity at the mention of her being a kittypet. He hadn't even known! Unease crept over his pelt but the ebony tom pushed it away, mentally scolding himself for being so insensitive. Not all outsiders are here to kill you, especially not an untrained apprentice - don't think such rude things! Spiderpaw groaned slightly as he shifted in his nest and that was when Umberpaw dropped the bomb of a question!

Spiderpaw sat in comtemplative silence, his gaze narrowed hard at the ground. Why did some clan cats hate kittypets? Was it even his place to speak about it? He wasn't necessarily an advocate for kittypets, but if they joined the clan weren't they just as much a clan cat as ones born here? Not to mention, it took a lot of risk for them to approach the wild cats. Spiderpaw simply shrugged, though he doubted Umberpaw had been able to see it. He sat in silence for a moment longer, refocusing his yellow orbs on Umberpaw before speaking. "I think cats don't like what they can't understand. I don't know honestly, everyone must feel that way for their own reasons... but that's all I can think of." The apprentice quickly added on, "I-I don't hate kittypets!" Spiderpaw could never see himself being so rude or mean to one! Though... there was something he was curious about. "So, why would you bother leaving the kittypet life anyway? Clan life isn't so glamorous..."
