He moved quietly into the nursery with all the determination he usually carried. This cat knew where he was going, and why. He had a daughter. A daughter, and a son. He knew very little about them, beyond the fact that they were his; they had entered an unbreakable bond for them. They were part of his family circle now, his own flesh and blood, and it was as though written in stone that he must protect and aid them until his dying days. So it was only logical that he appeared within the nursery as soon as he was able, moving directly to the small puffballs no doubt curled up within the soft strands of dried grass, leaves and moss, following his nose to the pure scent of fresh life untouched and untampered by the cruel rigors of life.

Paw pads crunched quietly nearby, depressing down the dead plant life that served as bedding, whether or not the kits' mother was nearby. Wordlessly, he began to curl himself around them, tail wrapping about in a protective barrier, his nose dipping down to press against soft fur. Whiskers bristled forward, sensing, feeling at the tiny creatures that belonged to him, and a rare purr began to rumble faintly in the back of the cat's throat. "Father is here," he churred quietly to them. "I will keep you safe."
Sparrowkit nuzzled against his father's fur, fumbling with his forepaws. He could taste his scent and feel his warmth, overcome by the sense of security thrust upon him - security he dwelled in, purring in gratefulness, not uttering a word and kneading into the tomcat's fur with his tiny forepaws. Beside him was his sister, and whilst his fur pressed close to hers, he was only glad to have his father beside him.

I want you to be happy
Just not quite as happy as you could've been if you had stayed with me
I hope that you're successful
Like maybe not your dream job, but a really solid second choice with a smaller salary
And I know one day you'll meet a girl
I bet she'll be dumb, and average looking
so when I compare myself to her I won't feel so sad about what we might've had
That would make me happy!
