Ambrae knew full well that Cassie was bluffing. The weapon in her hand would cause little more than a scrape and a trickle of blood, but in a game like this she was aware of the possibility of infection, the dangerous threat a single slit in the skin could cause. Smooth and cat-like, she crept from the stone and approached, no trace of reluctance or hesitation in her quick, tidy movements, no sign of distrust in her deceitfully helpful gaze. When she spoke, she stood so close Cassie could smell her breath, "I don't think so. I'm here to help you. I was thrown into this game just like you, and by our heights, I'd assume I'm younger. I have nothing against you. In the end, of course," she paused, "we're all against each other. But with my help, you might survive a little longer. I never wanted to live anyway, not in a world like this."

she couldn't just throw away the thought that something was off.....also didn't this girl hear of something called personal space ?!
