Blazingcomet hated the water, and the mud, but even he couldn't deny that it was beautiful here. Every territory had its flaws (even SkyClan's, as much as it pained him to admit) and this place was certainly far from awful. It could've been worse. They could've ended up in ShadowClan. Blazingcomet tried to keep an open mind when it came to the other Clans, but that place freaked him out. Every Clan had good and bad cats, but the stories he'd heard... everything that had happened... it seemed like ShadowClan wasn't the best place to be. Blazingcomet tried to remain calm as Gingerblossom talked about Risingsun. He knew, of course, that he wouldn't be the only one who realized how absolutely incredible she was forever, but he hadn't expected the RiverClan cats to catch on so soon. Still, it seemed like Risingsun wasn't interested in her (like that) anyways, or... she would've told him, right? Of course. Gingerblossom tells me everything. She wouldn't lie to me, would she? That was almost unthinkable, and Blazingcomet quickly pushed the thought out of his mind. How weird would that be?
"Cute toms, huh?" He paused for a moment, before taking on a more mischievous look and leaning towards her in the same conspiratorial manner as before. "Did you talk about me?" It was a joke, of course, but Blazingcomet couldn't help the quick skip of his heart that happened directly afterwards. What if they had? What had she said? Good things? Don't be ridiculous. Of course she said good things, she always says good things. It was one of the many, many things he loved - or liked about her. "You're going to have to introduce me to Splashcloud. She sounds awesome," He purred. It would be good for Gingerblossom to have more friends here. He wanted her to be happy, more than almost anything else, and if he thought he could've done it on his own - he would have. But he couldn't, not anymore. Not since his little crush had started growing, and growing, and he hadn't done anything about it. Why haven't I done anything about this? Usually, by this point, he'd either moved on or given up. At this point, the tom had done neither. Apparently, Gingerblossom was some kind of a weakness for him. His gaze softened as she cut herself off, continuing a moment later, and looking away from him as though she was embarrassed.
"Gingy... did something happen to you?" He asked, keeping his voice soft, trying to keep the underlying tension out of it. She's okay. Relax. Don't push this. "Did... did someone hurt you, or say something to you? Are you-" He stopped, taking a slow breath to calm his voice once more. "You can tell me. You know that." As gently as possible, Blazingcomet wrapped his tail around her, coming to sit closer so that their pelts were brushing. The effect was instant, like a small shock that rushed through his entire body. Part of him hated it, wanted to pull away instantly... but he couldn't. It had a follow-up calming effect on his mind, like being in her general vicinity often did. She had a calming effect on him, and, whether he wanted to believe it or not, he loved her. It wouldn't matter how many times he told himself he didn't. This wasn't changing, and it wasn't going away, and honestly... he didn't want it to go away.

At his question, she nodded enthusiastically, her minty eyes blown wide. “Of course I have! And it isn’t gorgeous!” She smiled as she thought about her stroll through the territory she had taken. “I mean, it’s not Skyclan gorgeous, but it has it's own beauty to it that makes it stand out from everything else.” She Let’s out a purr, before her eyes widened as she seemed to remember something. “Oh also, there’s such horrible pretty stones and shells here! Not as many flowers, but the pretty stones make up for it.” Ever since she had come to a Riverclan, she’d abandoned wearing flowers in her fur. It didn’t seem appropriate to her to do in a clan full of water and si many other natural beauty. “Speaking of pretty rocks, I found one that had a golden tint to it that I want to give you. It reminded me of your.... eyes.” She trailed off a little, her own hazel going to look are his eyes. The eyes she found surprisingly calling, despite their vibrant color. And his gaze just always seemed to be full of so much wonder when he was around her. She didn’t know how to interpret that.
When he leaned towards her again with another question, Gingerblossom felt her ears heat up a bit. He was so close, she could feel the warmth radiating from him. Like the sun. He was her sun. “Umm...” She started, unsure what to say. They certainly had talked about Blazingcomet, but Gingerblossom’s mind was blanking in what exactly Risingsun had said. He said something about lucky... oh yeah! She gave her companion a bright smile and nodded. “We did talk about you! Risingsun told me he’s seen you around and thinks you’re “smoking hot.” Whatever that means.” She giggled, remembering the ridiculous conversation she’d had with the tomcat. “He then told me I was a lucky girl to have someone like you.” She purred, remembering how oddly warm she had felt after her friend had said those words. She did feel lucky to have Blazingcomet. He was her best friend! “And yes, I’ll definitely introduce you to her sometime.” She has a feeling Blazingcomet and Splashcloud would get along pretty well. They both liked to do this “flirting thing.” A slight frown found it's way to her face as she realized she did didn’t like the idea of a Splashcloud flirting with Blazingcomet. But the frown was short lived.
As he stepped closer to her and wrapped his tail around her, Gingerblossom’s heart rate picked up immediately. She barely heard what he said, all she noticed was the intense way he was looking at her. She gulped, her eyes wide as she she stared into his own, her nerves buzzing. “I-i learned what flirting is.” She blurted our dumbly, her nose twitching. “And i noticed that you do it a lot.” She then looked downwards, her ears flattening slightly. She still didn’t understand what flirting meant. But she felt embarrassed to ask. “What does it mean?” She asked softly, returning her gaze to his, her skin burning.
