For so long, there was this bitterness swelling up inside the tom’s Head when he knew it wasn’t in his heart. That night so long ago turned out a lot of cats against their leaders and clan mates. It was just a shame that his own medicine cat wasn’t strong enough to fend them off from manipulating her mind. However, Passionstar didn’t saunter towards her just so he could hear how pathetic she sounded. Right now, she was looking pathetic, and as he glanced at her scarred eye, it would always be a reminder for the both of them. The leader flicked his tail behind him when Tallmarsh started to speak again. Moons ago, she wasn’t this kind of cat. He remembered when she was incredibly proud and super snappy, but now she seemed docile and submissive. Passionstar’s amber-green eyes stared intensely at her as she began to speak. He didn’t say anything for a while, and his eyes moved to the heart of the camp where he watched the other cats interact. His ears flicked, mind running a million miles per minute and really he was trying to explain what he wanted to say in a simpler manner. “There is nothing you can do to make things right between us.” He finally meowed, looking back down at her. “Unless you can give me back my life that you took.” His tone was even, but there was no hint of aggression. “From this point on, instead of sulking, you should be moving on. You can’t make things right, but you can improve to make it better and we shall see where the future leads us.” Passionstar knew he was a very faulty cat with all his imperfections, but he knew he couldn’t make things right, he couldn’t be a perfect cat, so instead he embraced his imperfections, deciding he would improve himself and make things better. He touched her shoulder blade with his tail tip, he had forgiven her, but she still had a long way to regain his trust again. “I have to give you your props - never thought I’d see the day some cat take me down. Let alone a medicine cat!” He quipped. Passionstar was a notorious warrior, a tough soldier...that was killed by his own medicine cat. It sure did deflate his ego, but in a good way.

Tallmarsh gathered up her courage and raised her head slowly to look Passionstar in the eyes as he spoke. She slowly nodded in agreement. He was right. For all this time, she had been holding onto this pain and beating herself up over this. She needed to know that she could start to feel okay--something she never thought she could feel again. She needed to understand that this was the beginning of healing. She had dreaded talking to Passionstar, but this was the one thing she had needed to see. He had forgiven her. Now it was her turn to forgive herself.
Strangely, she had found a calm. She smiled as Passionstar quipped, reminded of the 'good old days' before everything got crazy. Back when she was just the warrior-turned-medicine cat learning how to do her job, she and Passionstar were friends. She let out a small chuckle. "Well, I was a warrior once--a pretty good one, too. Not all medicine cats are wimps!" she retorted. It was strangely familiar to have this back and forth between the two of them. It seemed like forever ago.
