Logically, Silverpaw knew that a mouse would be the best for someone with her experience, but since when had she actually listened to logic? Silverpaw had some memories of seeing her friends hunt squirrels, so even though she hadn't actually done it herself it shouldn't be too much of a problem. It could be fun, and worst case scenario it was a learning experience.
Silverpaw grinned. "I'll do the squirrel."
After tasting the air yet again to pinpoint the direction of the smell, Silverpaw crept forward through the undergrowth with her hunting crouch. She glanced at her mentor to see her reaction, before continuing her hunt.
Slow first, then a quick attack, wasn't it? It didn't take long until the prey was in sight.
I don't want to startle it...! She took a deep breath, before lunging out from behind with all of her speed.
