The dusty tabby licked over his skinned shoulder, flinching from the stinging. He could taste the sour, metallic blood from his wound. He didn't like it.
He glared at the fuzzy golden leader. "Oh please, that medicine cat doesn't know what herb is," the deputy growled. He snapped his head to Sunblaze, ready to report his patrol.
Jealous warmed the old tom's pelt, narrowing eyes at Lionstar. I'm bleeding from my wound and you care about this wet furball? Twisting back to study the ginger warrior, he searched up and down, twisting back to the leader. Am I not handsome...?
