Lion looked up, distracted from his thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, I'm fine," he replied automatically. The young tom didn't mind the question. It was nice for someone to pretend to care, even if they didn't really mean it. It was better than being ignored, anyway.
"Er, thanks," Lion said as Soybean pushed the thrush towards him. The golden cat pushed his shrew towards Soybean, then slowly tore up the thrush. He might as well eat it for formality's sake, if anything. Soybean's coughs startled the golden tom once more and Lion turned to him quizzically.
"Are you sick?" he asked the white and black loner inquisitively. @
