Cormorantpaw charged after Sweetpaw without thinking and soon felt the grainy sand switch to uneven dirt and sticks under paw. The thought came to him that they probably weren’t supposed to leave the gathering, but he was having too much fun for the first time in what felt like too long to care. “I’m coming for ya!” He crowed, watching Sweetpaw leap into a bush, and threw himself into it too. Of course the branches tangled in his fur and ripped strands out, but Cormorantpaw ignored the sting in favor of blundering through in search of Sweetpaw. When he found her, he darted put a paw to tag her and leapt away again with a cry of, “caught ya!” Then, he dashed away and zigzagged through the undergrowth before skidding to a halt behind a tree trunk to watch for his chaser.
