Re: WindClan Nursery
Snakewillow huffed softly. Her logic may have been... extremely harsh, but at least he could name the last two kittens. Their pelts mimicked his, but that didn’t mean he loved them any more than Scrapkit. The poor thing.
Although they were still shivering and damp, he could tell a difference between his two remaining daughters. Turning his attention toward the kitten with nearly the exact same pelt as him, he made sure to fully groom her and let out soft purrs to reassure the kit. She wasn’t quite making a good case for herself. Hopefully his care would quiet her wails. Once he was finished, he gently put the kit down next to her mother. "Nightingalekit,” he said quietly. "They’re shrill and annoying, right?" Snakewillow hoped she’d take that as his reasoning, though he was lying. He felt Nightingale fit this kitten not only because she was loud, but because she was strong and would prove herself. So he hoped.
Flinging yet again when the last unnamed kit began wailing, he immediately picked her up and began grooming her. Doing about the same for her, he decided on a name. "Magpiekit." He didn’t feel a need to explain this one. Magpies were relatively ordinary birds, though he hoped she would outgrow her name in that sense.
Finally, that left Scrapkit. Dear, Snakewillow had to find a better nickname for her. Picking her up, he made sure to dry her off and give her just a bit of extra attention before setting her down with her siblings. He assumed Whisperwillow was about fed up with him, so he began to crawl out. "I’m leaving, unless you want me to stay, Whisperwillow. Take care." 'of them,' he’s wanted to add.
Those poor kittens.
