Unless your kit is sickly or injured, there's no reason why they shouldn't be given the opportunity to grow as an apprentice. Perhaps it'd be different if I were Icestar and into allowing any apprentice to fight at any old battle, but I have restrictions in place to ensure those who fight have enough training to handle themselves.
