"You never stop learning, and you bet your sorry hide if you slack off on your skills I'll personally set you straight." Though it was a threat, it wasn't without some affection. Thsitlestep had warmed up to the young WindClan refugee and he was proud he had gotten this far.

The only one of his apprentices to make it to this point.. it was still a weird thought, and his mind lingered briefly on Violetpaw. Could he have accomplished this with her if the ocean hadn't taken her first?

"You were never worth giving up on. Remember that." Thistlestep raised a paw to lightly bop Warblercry's nose. "WindClan failed you.. I'm glad we had the opportunity to get you to your full potential."

His ears flicked as Lionstar argued with the queen and yelled at the idiot warrior, not really interested in the drama or continued ceremonies. It didn't concern him. He was free to enjoy some time without an apprentice bogging him down.. not that Warblercry did, but he liked the freedom without added responsibility.

And then Lionstar had to ruin that. Thistlestep let out an audible groan when he changed Blizzardpaw's mentor to him. "Are you serious?" He snapped, visibly irked by the new assignment. Yeah, he knew Lionstar was, it just..

Why him?

Tail lashing, Thistlestep let out a low growl toward Blizzardpaw. "Rush me, and I'll make sure he does change his mind. Sit down, Blizzardpaw. We're not going anywhere until the meeting is over." Already, he wasn't caring for Blizzardpaw's attitude..

Maybe he was just in a bad mood, but being assigned to a cat with a history of misbehaving wasn't exactly a good time.

Blizzardpaw narrowed his eyes at Thistlestep,” Fine. But I’m sitting with Spiderpaw.” he meowed as he walked over to join Spiderpaw. He didn’t like his mentor bossing him around, at least Bumblefather never bossed him around except for when Lionstar forced him to be dragged back to the nursery.
