following sootflare along to the tunnels with an excited bounce in his step, whenever sootflare glanced backwards during the journey the warrior made sure to sneakily start walking like a normal person, hoping he would stop himself from getting yelled at for not... being serious. dayheart nodded up and down a bunch, refraining himself from speaking because if he did all that would come out was a bunch of unnecessary word vomit. serious. got it! he could do serious, pff, no problem.. he was the most seriousestest of the seriousest!

if he was so serious, he could talk without spilling a bunch of words, right? ... dayheart was going to test it out. "ahm... yes sir! understood! you're very understo-" dayheart realized he was failing and clicked the imaginary off button for his mouth, ending his half-sentence with a bright, dayheart-size (see: huge) smile to sootflare. he had to make sure sootflare liked him!! if sootflare liked dayheart even the tiniest bit then dayheart would be able to worm his way into having sootie tolerate him and then they could eventually be besties n dayheart could give him flower crowns and shells and pretty shiny things and sootflare would be all like oh thank you bestie and then they would be friends and then dayheart wouldn't be lonely and then dayheart would die happy!!!!!!

the warrior waited for creekleap to say something, anything, before he asked sootflare if he could go off into the ... wilderness. tunnels. whatever they were called!! leaving before listening to anything creekleap had to say would just be rudeee, and pff, dayheart wasn't rude. he was the seriousestest of the seriousest, but he wasn't rude!!
