Ashfeather relaxed, glad that the leader didn't think that anything bad was going on between her and Blackhaze. Silently, she hoped that her stupid jaw hadn't made her drool too much. Still, though, she was shaky with relief. Carefully, she dipped her head and responded to the leader's next words, "I-I will, I promise." Sure, Blazehaze had been nice, but she had to prove herself to her Clan. And staying away from Blazehaze wouldn't be too hard; the two barely knew each other.
But he was nice to me. She shook that from her head.
He was willing to attack and badly injure Rosebriar. That's not a good cat. So, she listened as Twilightstar berated Rosebriar and did feel a bit bad for the she-cat. However, it also felt kind of... nice? She didn't know how to describe it. Overall, she didn't know how to feel at the leader's offer of hunting. She just gave a simple nod and silently slid out of the den, being careful not to get too close to Rosebriar.
Rosebriar felt a twinge of annoyance. Why did a strong cat like Twilightstar have to obviously seem to favor Ashfeather over her?
Maybe it's because of that wretched apprentice she's got, she thought drily. However, she knew that she couldn't disobey her leader. She didn't want anything bad to happen to her, now, did she? However, she didn't like the leader's insults or her obvious anger... or frustration? She didn't know, but she didn't want to be demoted. But insulting her mother? It was all Rosebriar could do not to burst with frustration, but she struggled to keep a calm face and dipped her head. "Yes, Twilightstar," she meowed, her voice a little strained but still with that signature honey hint. "We do. I'll leave now." She slid out of the den.
