Gently yet firmly, Goosefury hooked one forepaw around the kit's middle and pulled her close to him. He set her down by his leg and took a breath.

So. He was to decide whether she were to stay or go. On the one paw, he didn't want her anywhere near RiverClan or himself. On the other paw... it would be fun to keep her here, where her kit was mere seconds away, and where she would be unable to speak to her or even see her.

"She can stay," he grunted. "But she won't be able to see her kit. Ever. And I want her apprenticed under me, so I can keep an eye on her." He could deal with two apprentices. Sunpaw didn't require much work anyway.

He narrowed his eye at Sparrowsnap and curled his lip in a sneer. "You'll never change. Stop lying to yourself so that you can stop lying to us."
