Kestrel let out a high-pitched squeak howl of dismay when Swallowkit launched herself straight towards him. He was older than Swallow, but StarClan liked her better, because she'd always been bigger than him. Kes hated this- but at least he was faster.

"NOOoooOOoo, I don't want to be happy!!"

Kestrel leapt off of Buckstar just quick enough to miss the brunt of Swallowkit's attack. He gasped when she still caught his back paw, and the two landed with a graceless THUD onto the earth beside Buck's nest. Ouch. Heart pounding, Kestrel scrambled up to his paws, diving against the side of Buckstar that was farthest away from Swallow. He buried his nose in the splotchy brown, white fur. Obviously he was using his leader as some type of strategic cat-shield. Not hiding. Bet Swallowkit never saw THAT coming!! After a moment, Kestrel peaked over one side of the tom, realizing Wrenkit distracted Swallow with his own attack. He grinned wide. "Go Wren!!"

When Buckstar said something about going back to the nursery, though, Kestrel's ears flattened. But they JUST GOT here! Kestrel skittered over so he could see Buckstar's face, making his eyes really big (some adults thought that was cute, he didn't know why.) Kes didn't have anything convincing to say-- but would he shut up? No. "We want to be warriors! Or-- if that's against the warrior code, what about the first kit leaders of ThunderClan? I can help you make patrols!"
