Beck attempted to hide the messy, voxelly gash on his arm, so that the soldier wouldn't be able to recognize him. Maybe he could throw him off the trail by giving him a false lead.
The Renegade attacked me, he went that way; if you hurry, you might catch him. Yeah. That sounded foolproof.
