Beck gave a cry of alarm, and accidentally derezzed the program from behind. He didn't realize his disc was lit, and practically kicked himself because of his mistake. The firewall would need serious medical attention-- something Beck didn't know how to administer.
Instead, he turned to the other programs surrounding him and began fighting them off, making sure the blade of his disc was inactive this time.
