You can't solve all your problems by yourself, and no one will know what your problems are if you don't tell them." Scorchstrike wasn't just making things up to reassure Mudkit, it was actually true. Talking about her nightmares with Irisflame had helped, and lengthy conversations with her once led to a dream where she poisoned the dog and won. Turning around to groom her back paws, she said, "Coming out for a breath of fresh air and some night hunting helps too, but talking about it usually works the best, because you're not left alone to stew in your thoughts." @~Mud
Mudkit sat there in the dark, wondering if what Scortchstrike said was true, or if she was just saying that to try and make him feel better. He glanced over at the calico, his light blue eyes trying to see from her body movements if she was lying or not. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell. Can I really not solve all of my problems by myself? It's worked so far...But maybe she is right... He looked up at the moon, hoping stupidly for a moment that she would tell him if this she-cat was correct or not. He sighed when he got no reply from the floating white ball in the sky, thinking he was foolish. Maybe if I try it once...I can find out if it works or not... He pondered over this for a while, trying to decide if he could trust Scortchstrike. She had bad dreams too, so maybe she would know why, if he did tell her about his dream, he wouldn't want her to tell anyone else.

Mudkit took another deep breath before saying in a grouchy but hesitant voice, "I-if I told you about my dream...Would you tell anyone about it?" There. He had said it. There was no way that he could take it back now. She knew that he had bad dreams. She knew that he was scared of them. But, maybe what she said really would work. Maybe these dreams that plagued him almost every night would FINALLY go away. He didn't know if it would work, but he had to try it. All that he needed before he said out loud what he had been holding in for so long as the guarantee that she wouldn't tell anyone about it.
