Swiftfang was sitting around the clearing area, looking around his newly-scarred pelt. There was a small gash on his leg; nothing that major, but it would certainly be permanent. It’d be a token from fighting in battle against SkyClan. The Siamese’s jaw opened up into a small frown at the imperfection, carefully nudging the fur so that it would cover up the wound somewhat. In all this hustle, he nearly missed a faint voice coming in his direction. Under normal circumstances, he’d ignore it, especially if it were a fellow clanmate asking him to do chores. But this voice was familiar; he’d talked with it for quite some time over the last couple of moons. Burrpaw.
“Hmm.” The warrior said, nodding his head at the enthusiasm and ignoring his pelt for a moment. “You beat a warrior?” Was the mentor’s next reply; Burrpaw was relatively young and inexperienced. How could he fight against a full-fledged adult? Swiftfang immediately assumed that Jinxflare wasn’t the most seasoned warrior, or else he wouldn’t have lost. His words held these thoughts, in a hint of amusement and confusion. “That’s certainly something, I suppose.”
“And who exactly was he, this ‘Jinxflare’?” He added on, putting a small damper on the mood, for he was not aware of who the warrior was. The tom swore he’d seen the name somewhere, somehow. It was tingling with familiarity. Someone must’ve mentioned this name recently around the battlefield, or spoke of it during a meeting.
