"The Occupation won't take us. They won't. I won't let them take you, and you won't let them take me. " He held her steady and held back tears. "They won't take us. You know that they can't take us away from each other. We love each other too much to let them separate us. Nothing can, and I mean that. " He let a few tears fall onto both of them. "Nothing can separate us. Nothing. You mean everything to me, I can't let anyone take us away from each other. " He squeezed her even more. "J-just don't think about us being separated. I can't bear to think about it."
