The tabby drew her paws through the water a bit experimentally jolting and playing trying to chase her own (nonexistant) tail when she discovered paddling one paw harder than the rest turned her in place. “This feels good! Like really good, it was scary before but this is fun and easier then I thought it’d be, is all swimming like this? What next, I wanna do more!” Willowpaw badgered getting rapidly more and more excited as she got into the flow of the activity looking up at Snowfern with an ecstatic grin. One of the good things about being young was that if suitably distracted trama faded fast and the disaster was already fading in the wake of these new discoveries and Willowpaw was a clear example of this, what may be a terrifying event faded fast even if it may linger more on the mind of older cats.

Slowly, Snowfern started to laugh along with Willowpaw, her warm smile only growing. She didn't show it - not that much, at least - but she was relieved beyond belief. If she hadn't figured out how to stay afloat, who knows what would've happened to her apprentice? The thought alone was enough to make her anxious, and she shook her head to rid the thought from her head. It was fine, everything was
fine... Right? Yeah, right.
¨I wont tell anyone, i promise¨ She responded, forcing her voice to become light. A singular amber eye watched contently as the apprentice paddled in circles, though she couldn't deny that she was still on edge from the previous incident.
Ears pricking at the statement, she couldn't help but nod in agreement,
¨It does, doesn't it? I felt the same way when i was first taught how to swim, actually!¨ she mewed, fondly thinking back to her first swimming lesson. Creekleap had always been such a good mentor to her, but her heart throbbed when she remembered that her former mentor had gone missing moons ago... Once again, she forced herself to snap out of those thoughts. She had already spent enough time being sad over the disappearance of Creekleap, she had to focus on teaching willowpaw.
¨This is pretty much what swimming is. There's not much more to it, actually.¨ she mused, kicking off from the ground and paddling over to near where willowpaw was.
