Burningpaw’s sides heaved as he caught his breath, the rage subsiding as quickly at it had come. He was left staring at the rabbit that lay mangled at his paws with bitter indifference, until he noticed Breezefeather storming towards him. The deputy looked like he was about to breathe fire, a sight that would have shaken any apprentice- even a warrior. Burningpaw did not so much as flinch. His pride denied him.
“It’s just a piece of meat. I killed it, I can do with it whatever I please. If the elders can’t stomach a little bit of dirt maybe they shouldn’t stomach anything at all. Beggars can’t be choosers.. isn’t that the saying?”
“You can’t keep me trapped in camp forever.. Who’s to say you have the power to keep from hunting at all? Do you plan on fighting me? An apprentice?”

"A piece of meat? You don't kill it for pleasure, when you kill a prey when out on a hunting patrol, it does not become yours, it become's the lifeblood of the clan. If you cannot stomach that simple nock off your pride pedestal, you should refrain from eating any prey all of the others have caught, and always take care of yourself. But that's not how the clan works. We take care of each other, and that means you should be respectful to your elders as well as the clanmates who eat this prey. Who's to say this might go to the elders? It might go to a kit who can choke on the dust and sand clinging to it. Be responsible Burningpaw, take care of your prey like you would a clanmate because this is going to the clanmates."
Breezefeather didn't know how else to knock the sense into the young tom and decided that it wasn't worth his effort to get into a big argument with his apprentice. So turning around, and leveling a harsh glare at Burningpaw with his green eyes, he spoke his voice cold, "Power? I am the deputy. The right-hand in this clan. If you cannot respect my rank, whose to say you're going to do the same to Twilightstar. I will not fight you because I expect you to know better but if you do leave camp, I'll talk to her about a demotion for you because clearly you need to learn more respect before you're capable of learning." Hoping that, that at least got through to Burningpaw he continued down the tunnel picking up his own rabbit and then proceeded to leave the warren, mentally still fuming and angry... he would need a good run to clear his head.
